We do! In search of a cure, we travel all over the world. At any given time we are on a trip, not always to what you'd consider an exotic location. To date, we have yet to find a cure--but we sure have had fun looking! In our quest, we each fly more than 100,000 actual miles annually.
Sometimes we even score a ride in the cockpit jumpseat--outside the United States, of course.
Our travels have taken us around the world to Bali, Tahiti, Palau, Malaysia, Peru, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Finland, France, Estonia, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, England, Denmark, Argentina, Uruguay, Aruba, The Netherlands, Japan, China, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, The Philippines, Turkey, South Africa, Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, The Galapagos Islands, Macau, Singapore, Romania, Turkey, and many others. One of our favorite activites is taking driving trips throughout the United States visiting our nation's National Parks.
But first, we'd like to share some of our vacation photos with you.
Former residents of Maui, Dan and Sara returned in January 2008 for a visit with friends Steve and Ellen Bowen.
Both Bowens are retired airline professionals: Steve, a Boeing 747-400 captain, and Ellen, a flight attendant. A big mahalo nui loa for their warm hospitality!
One of our best trips took us to South America in 2004. We visited Montevideo (Uruguay), Buenos Aires (Argentina), and Lima, Cusco, and Aguas Calientes (Peru).
Here we are at Machu Picchu. We kept pinching ourselves that we were really there. The llamas and alpacas were so cute, albeit a bit bedraggled in the light mist.
Sara and Dan with a reclining Buddha in Ayutthaya, Thailand, January 2005.
Ayutthaya is north of Bangkok and was once the capitol of Thailand. There are my Buddhas in the city and many temples hundreds of years old. The architectural style is called Ayutthaya Period and incorporates Khmer elements into the temples.
November 2007 found us visiting San Francisco, CA.
It is a wonderful city offering so much to do--including many National Park units like Fort Point, Muir Woods, Presidio, Alcatraz Island, Crissy Field, etc.
In case you had any doubt, we are indeed members of the Jet Set! Here we are in front of a lounge by the same name in Prague, Czech Republic, in December 2004.
Prague is a beautiful old city and the art and architecture are wonderful, not to mention the Christmas markets and mulled wine!
We returned to Prague again in the August 2009-it was a lot warmer then!
